PPF Care Guide: How to Maintain Your Film for Long-Term Clarity
PPF is low-maintenance, but a few simple habits will keep it looking new for years.
Wait before washing. Give the adhesive 48 hours to cure after installation. Avoid high-pressure washes for the first week.
Hand wash when possible. Automatic brush washes can leave micro-scratches. Use a pH-neutral car shampoo, a clean mitt, and plenty of water. Rinse thoroughly.
Avoid abrasive products. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvent-based cleaners, or aggressive polishing compounds on the film. These can damage the topcoat.
Dry with a soft microfiber towel. Air drying can leave water spots, especially in hard-water regions.
Wax or seal periodically. While not required, a quality spray sealant or ceramic coating applied over PPF enhances gloss and makes maintenance easier. Avoid wax with strong dyes that may discolor over time.
Address issues early. If an edge lifts or a nick appears, have it repaired promptly. Small issues rarely stay small.
Use heat for light marks. If swirl marks appear, a few minutes in direct sun or a rinse with hot water (not boiling) will activate self-healing.
With routine care, Zeno PPF will maintain optical clarity and gloss for its full service life—protecting your paint and preserving your vehicle’s value.
